On Monday, Sept. 15, Swedish-Syrian author Ali Alabdallah shared his journey of leaving his war-town homeland a dozen years ago to re-establishing his life in Sweden.

Trained and educated as a journalist, Ali had to learn both a new language and a new culture in order to transfer his passion for storytelling into his professional life here in Sweden. This experience "hit close to home" for many members of the Malmö International Rotary Club who also came to Sweden from the country where they were born and raised.

Ali now works as a resource manager in Landskrona and has published six books in Swedish. You can learn more about Ali and his work here.
