Our guest speaker, Dr. Giovanna Parmigiani, will talk about how feminist movements in contemporary Italy have made gendered violence visible — and politically unavoidable.
Giovanna is an anthropologist affiliated with Harvard University and Lund University, whose work explores feminism, gendered violence, and spirituality in contemporary Europe. Her talk explores how slogans, images, rituals, and public actions have challenged silence around femicide and reframed violence as a collective responsibility, not a private tragedy.
Based on long-term research, it shows how representation itself can become a form of resistance, shaping how societies see, remember, and act against violence.
This will be a hybrid meeting held at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Malmö, and virtually on Zoom.
